This is the third piece that I was meant to submit to my University's Literary Journal and again I didn't. This one is one of my very favourite pieces out of the three. I worked hard on doing the butterflies and the glow of it. They were actually black to start of with but I turned them blue to match with the water.
I adore the reflection on this and the nice and simple special effects I used to create this piece. I did my best using contrasting colour for the girl's outfit, originally she was meant to be a boy but I had to compromise.
I wasn't actually going to draw butterflies coming out from the water at first but them I thought it was was too plain so I happen to get an idea from a poster that a friend gave to for my birthday with a girl shooting her in the head and the blood splat has hundreds of butterflies evolving from the the blood splat, which gave the idea of butterflies evolving from the water.
It was originally was a square size piece but I ended up making it a rectangular shape to give it more space, which everyone dislike a lot of negative especially white negative space. I think I trained myself you use space effectively because normally when I draw I don't add background and leave it white because I'm no good with background but even if I do draw a background it just seems so cramped in because I not really trained in doing background like most are.
I simply adore this piece and I worked really hard on it to get to work out nicely but I really hope you guys enjoy the simplicity of this piece.
